Compatibility at a glance
| Platform | Current official Zen path | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | Cronus Zen plus Zen LINK Wi-Fi Expansion Module for full native support | Older workarounds may not reflect the current supported method |
| Xbox Series X|S | Official Series controller by USB or Xbox Wireless Adapter | Official guide lists no Bluetooth support for Xbox controllers |
| Windows PC | Zen connection plus supported controller; Zen Studio for Windows 10/11 configuration | Game, controller, and output settings still need to match |
Dated compatibility snapshot
This matrix was reviewed against official Cronus support pages on September 27, 2026. Hardware support changes. Use the linked official guides as the final authority for today's setup.
PlayStation 5 setup considerations
The official supported-platforms page currently states that PS5 support requires the Zen LINK Wi-Fi Expansion Module. The current wireless guide also ties full native PS5 operation with a USB DualSense controller to that module.
- Confirm the Zen, expansion module, firmware, and controller are on the current supported path.
- Do not treat an old Remote Play, specialty-controller, or donor-controller video as current official guidance.
- Test native controller functions and audio separately before adding the third-party GPC script.
- If input works without the script but fails with it, troubleshoot the slot/source rather than rebuilding the authentication path.
Xbox Series X|S setup considerations
The official Xbox Series X|S guide lists official Series controllers as supported over USB and Xbox Wireless Adapter, with Bluetooth marked unsupported. For crossover devices, the guide describes an Xbox controller on the authentication path.
- Know the exact controller model; similarly named Xbox One and Series variants may differ.
- Use USB for the simplest isolation test before adding a wireless adapter.
- For wireless Xbox controller use, follow the official adapter pairing and port instructions.
- Start with a fully charged controller or fresh batteries to reduce disconnect variables.
Windows PC and Zen Studio considerations
The official desktop Zen Studio setup is published for Windows 10/11. This is the normal environment for opening GPC source, compiling it, placing it in a memory slot, and programming the Zen.
| Layer | Compatibility question |
|---|---|
| Configuration PC | Can the current official Zen Studio build detect the Zen through PROG USB? |
| Game PC | Does NBA 2K26 receive the intended controller type and button layout? |
| Controller | Is the exact model supported by Zen over the chosen USB or adapter path? |
| Script | Does the source compile in the current GPC compiler and target the selected layout? |
| Display/FPS | Is the frame rate and input-latency environment stable enough for timing tests? |
Controllers, wireless paths, and audio
“Platform compatible” does not mean every controller and feature combination is guaranteed. Cronus documents that controller audio may be unavailable over wireless paths, and it does not promise full headset behavior for every third-party combination.
- Prefer an officially listed controller model for initial setup and troubleshooting.
- Test a wired USB connection before diagnosing an adapter or Bluetooth path.
- For wired headset problems, follow the official connection order and supported USB route.
- Remove mouse, keyboard, adapter, and extra controller layers until basic input is stable.
- Re-add optional peripherals individually so the failing layer is identifiable.
Checklist before buying or changing hardware
- Open the current official Cronus platform page and confirm the console is supported today.
- Find the exact controller model—not only the brand or product family—in the relevant guide.
- Check whether an expansion module, authentication controller, or wireless adapter is required.
- Confirm that you have access to Windows 10/11 for the full Zen Studio GPC workflow.
- Treat headset, microphone, and wireless support as separate compatibility questions.
- Review game and platform rules before buying hardware primarily for automated input.
Compatibility is not a safety claim
A technically working connection does not mean its use is permitted in every game mode, platform service, league, or tournament.
